I-1
is one of the oldest outfits on campus. Established in 1969,
I-1 has never been reformed or disbanded. As
such, there are many traditions exclusive to I-1
and is not uncommon to hear other cadets say, “I wish we did that.”
In Company I-1, we pride ourselves on our
ability to work hard, and to play hard. We believe this is
essential in producing a well-rounded leader. When it is time to work,
I-1 is among the toughest outfits on the Quad.
At the same time, the bonds of brotherhood formed through being an
Ord Ord are the strongest anywhere.
Red Eye signifies the pre-dawn jumps of
Airborne soldiers during World War II. To this day,
I-1 has many cadets seeking a commission and has many cadets who
attend US Army Airborne school each summer. Red Eye
One continues to have a tradition of military excellence.
Academics are always our top priority in Company I-1.
We have an extensive academic support chain that has served as an
example for the Corps. I-1 freshmen and
sophomore cadets complete 25 hours of supervised study each week.
Red Eye One is well represented throughout the
University and the Corps. We have leaders who serve at the Corps and
Brigade level. Company I-1 also holds active
positions in various special units within the Corps. Among our ranks are
members of the Ross Volunteers, Fish Drill Team, Ranger Challenge,
Rudder’s Rangers, Color Guard, Corps Center Guard, and the O.R. Simpson
Honor Society.
There is not one among us who will deny that joining
I-1 was the best decision they ever made. Accept the
challenge, it is an experience of a lifetime. Contact Company I-1 at
